When asked what imagination meant to me; I envisioned people who could sit down and create. These people did not have difficulty in painting a picture, creating beautiful music, writing a novel, or performing in a play or dance. When I envisioned creative people, someone in a position of leadership did not enter my mind. Imagination dwelled in someone who could see beyond a blank canvas and imagine all the possibilities that existed. As human beings, we live in a world that has lost its ability to see the canvas, let alone what could be. The synthesis of leadership and imagination has the potential to elevate a leader from competent to extraordinary.
