Mount Shasta Trip - 1
We had hoped for dry weather for the drive down to the San Francisco Bay area from Oregon, and we did get it, the only problem being that it was almost TOO good, with temperatures breaking through 110 degrees fahrenheit on several occasions during the day and topping out at 114F as we stood alongside Shasta Lake a few hours after this shot was taken.
The high heat meant for some heavy haze, making what could have been a stunning landscape shot fade away a little into the distance, but for our first clear semi-unobstructed view of Mount Shasta, it fit the bill nicely, and to be honest makes the volcanic mountain look almost unreal in the distance.
