Soviet MiG-15 Fagot Model
This model of a Soviet MiG-15 Fagot was sponsored by Captain E. Royce Williams, VF-781. In an engagement that threatened to turn the Cold War into a hot one, on 18 November 1952, then-Lieutenant Williams and his wingman, flying F9F-5 Panthers, intercepted 7 Soviet MiG-15's flying on a direct course towards USS ORISKANY off North Korea, and were fired upon by the MiG's. Williams shot down several of the MiG's, and the remainder turned back for Vladivostok. This model was hand built by Michael McLeod for the Cold War Gallery, at Washington Navy Yard.
