The reamins of Pilgrim Baptist Church sit nearly unchanged after a fire destroyed the building more than 5 years ago.

Designed by famed Chicago architects Adler & Sullivan, Pilgrim Baptist Church was constructed in 1890. In 2006 the historic church was gutted by fire. Everything but the exterior masonry walls was lost. These walls are now secured in place by a steel exo-skeleton while the congragation attempts to raise funds to rebuild.

I ran into one of the parishioners while taking these shots. I asked her what the status was with the building and she had hoped that since I was taking pictures I had some sort of update for her. Needless to say this was not encouraging. If you would like to donate money for the rebuilding effort you can visit rebuildpilgrim.org/ .

One interesting adornment on the outside of the Air and Space Hall as part of the Museum and Science and Industry is this.

They resemble a depiction of the red rose of Lancashire's emblem within the two circles.
